  11. 1) When did you start blogging and what prompted you to do so?
I started blogging February after thinking it over for two years post-graduation. I took a Youth & Pop Culture course in college which opened my eyes to how media in all its forms are dictating and often times stealing childhoods. I then followed that up with studying a cartoon for my cultural communications thesis on a little cartoon called Winx Club (never hear of it? count your lucky stars). Riveting stuff, let me tell you!

    2) Why do you blog? What is your blog purpose?
I have this seemingly *wacky* notion that children deserve to have their uncompromising, unapologetic, untarnished innocence, at least for a little while. The sheer amount of girl power[less] examples constantly shoved down our throats by the oh-so-darling media dramatically desensitizes kids from the minute their born. I mean, pink or blue bonnet?
Over at The Shattered Glass Slipper I aim to smash girl stereotypes into tiny smithereens while simultaneously (I’m quite the multi-tasker!) ask the question, “why can’t girls just be girls?”

    3) How do you come up with blogging ideas?
I get a lot of my ideas from pop culture, online articles, scholarly books and other female bloggers.

    4) What is your biggest blogging struggle? Making time to proof read a post over and over again before I actually hit “publish.” I just get so excited to get my stuff out there!!!

    5) If you were to start all over, what mistakes would you avoid?
I would probably have the design, social channels, custom email address all set up before I made it live! Also, though I heart WordPress, I should have registered my domain with an outside host because it’s been a PAIN to switch it over so I can get that custom email…alsdfjalsd. I’m still frustrated.

  19. 1) When did you start blogging and what prompted you to do so? About 3 years ago under a different name.

    2) Why do you blog? To share ideas for Home Entertaining and Celebrating life’s social and milestone moments. I noticed people rush through life and are even cheating themselves out of celebrating moments they will never have again.

What is your blog purpose? To give inspiration and motivation to the masses to celebrate their lives and how -to’s for themselves if they don’t/can’t use my company to plan their celebrations.

    3) How do you come up with blogging ideas? I try to resolve problems, challenges while planning a celebration, or things I think are creative, easy to do or fun.

    4) What is your biggest blogging struggle? Finding new things I think will interest the readers on a regular basis.

    5) If you were to start all over, what mistakes would you avoid? Worrying about perfection in articles and trying to be so very different. People just want the information you have in the simplest form.

What do you think of the questions? Thought provoking to make you remember why one blogs.

Would you like to be featured on this blog? Yes I would. I think the blog world has lots to offer in a variety of genres and formats.

  21. Hi Delia!
    1) When did you start blogging and what prompted you to do so?
I started blogging only a couple of weeks ago because I am a very opinionated stay at home mother with a lot to talk about!

    2) Why do you blog? What is your blog purpose?
My blog is meant to be an eye-opener for people. I talk about issues that people ignore or dont want to see which is why i named it the power of babel; a language that nobody addresses because they are scared to speak their mind or dont want to face the truth.

    3) How do you come up with blogging ideas?
Blog ideas come to my mind every second of every day; however, I am highly inspired when i watch Morning Joe.

    4) What is your biggest blogging struggle?
My biggest struggle is to focus on one thought and not veer off into another subject.

    5) If you were to start all over, what mistakes would you avoid?
I am very new to blogging so I am not aware of my mistakes yet but hopefully I will catch them early on!

  27. I’d love to be involved. I’ve been blogging for just over a year, try to do at least one post per week and have been an active participant of your Blog Commenting Weekend since the beginning, when it was only Blog Commenting Friday! You’ll find me at www dot loumessugo dot com slash en slash blog

  28. 1) When did you start blogging and what prompted you to do so?
I was ghostwriting a blog for a CMO on social media and after about six blog posts, I thought, “I can do this.” So I started my own social media blog at the end of 2010.
    2) Why do you blog? What is your blog purpose? I blog to help people and for credibility in my field. I’m a social media consultant and trainer and I find it really helps.
    3) How do you come up with blogging ideas? I come up with most of my ideas from reading other blogs and news articles in my niche.
    4) What is your biggest blogging struggle? I blog daily so I think coming up with enough interesting content that the readers will find useful is probably my biggest struggle.
    5) If you were to start all over, what mistakes would you avoid? I’d change the format of the titles of my blog so that evergreen content is not lost in SEO just because the date is older.
